Take care, there is no lift so you must walk up the large wooden winding staircase to the 4th floor!

Getting here is easy:
Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Orly airport transport stops just across the road from the flat. Take the train to Paris and get out at Paris Nord. If you arrive in Paris by train, just take the metro to La Chapelle, Louis Blanc or Gare du Nord stations.

Walk or metro anywhere in Paris easily:
– Walk to Canal Saint Martin in only 5 minutes. Walk to the Seine in 50 minutes, a lovely walk down the canal.
– Metro line 2 is across the street, metro lines 7 and 7b are 3 minutes walk away. Metro lines 4 and 5 are at the Gare du Nord, only 7 minutes walk away.

Trendy but real neighbourhood:
– A small high street with traditional Parisian shops: cheese shops, quality French bakeries, a charcutier, pharmacy, doctor, dry cleaning, hipster boutiques and cafés.
– The flat is in a tiny neighbourhood called “petite inde” (Little India) and is right on the border between a bustling area called La Chapelle (2 minutes walk away) and the serene Canal Saint Martin (5 minutes walk away). La Chapelle is an area where working people, including many immigrants, live.

It has a reputation for being less chic than many more expensive parts of Paris but it is filled with perfectly friendly Parisians and is safe for travellers, single female travellers included! Canal Saint Martin is trendy and fun, with hundreds of arty cafés and restaurants for every budget from alternative to high end.
In summer, parisians of all ages picnic along the banks of the canal.

Perfect hub for visiting Europe:
– Eurostar (2.15-hour high speed train to London) stops 7 minutes walk away, at the Gare du Nord.
– Thalys (high speed train to Brussels and Amsterdam) stops 15 minutes walk away, at the Gare de l’Est.
– RER network of trains run from Gare du Nord to villages and towns in the Paris region (Giverny, Versailles and more). The flat runs on renewable energy.
